Alenga, Uganda
Established 2019
Background
The north-central region of Uganda has been the focus of the Alenga Lighthouse. Located in the marshy lowlands between the Victoria Nile river and multiple large lakes, the Langi people are threatened by flooding that destroys agriculture and main food sources. Speaking their own language, interregional communication is difficult. Common work here includes grain milling, brick making, pottery, and agriculture.

Our Partners & Trainers
Our partnership with Comboni Missionaries has allowed us to empower the people of Alenga. With their guidance and relationship, they have identified those most in need of light and trained a diverse team to empower and raise up their communities. Varying in age, gender, language, and ability, they aim to build relationships with ALL light recipients and empower ALL individuals who may not otherwise have an opportunity. We are so grateful for their partnership.

How To Support
It is because of your generosity that we can bring MORE lights to MORE people through our Lighthouse model serving the most remote and impoverished areas. Together, we improved the lives of others tremendously by bringing light, hope, and empowerment. It is amazing the power one sustainable innovation holds to lift families out of the darkness of poverty.
